LAX Design Guidelines

Los Angeles, California

The Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) Design Guidelines established LAWA’s comprehensive vision for the passenger experience at LAX. They are intended to integrate the design of new and existing facilities and to create an improved passenger experience that honors LAX’s history and Mid-Century Modern architecture, while providing design guidance for nre construction and major renovations as part of the modernization of LAX.

Working closely with LAWA, other stakeholders, and a multidisciplinary team, Gruen Associates participated in preparing the LAX Design Guidelines establishing the context and layout of the overall documents with a detailed focus on the Streetscape, Landscape, and Public Realm section. The LAX Design Guidelines were adopted in 2018.
