Senior Planner - Director of Planning

We are looking to develop a senior planner into a department leader.  This position provides the opportunity to lead an award-winning planning/urban design department with a wide range of exciting projects, including TODs, specific plans, planning and design for mass transit and transportation projects, master plans, design standards/guidelines, campus projects, revitalization plans, streetscape projects, and community plans for both public and private sectors.

Position requires experience/expertise in:

  • Hands-on project management of a small staff
  • Day-to-Day Administration including invoicing, contracts and office management
  • Business development in California and proposal writing
  • Land use/urban planning/design
  • Strong physical design and policy planning
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Innovative outreach and consensus building
  • Active Transportation

A Master’s degree in Planning or a related field, an AICP certification, and 10 years of experience in planning/urban design are required, with a minimum of three (3) years at a private consulting firm. Experience in transportation planning and an undergraduate degree in Architecture or Landscape Architecture, are desirable.

Salary Range $110,000/year to $150,000/year commensurate with experience.

Junior Architectural Designer

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Required:

  • Degree in Architecture
  • Candidates on the path to architectural licensure
  • Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD. 3D modeling skills in Rhino or SketchUp a plus
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator
  • Should have some experience reading and drawing construction documents.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and adaptable
  • Must be a problem solver and demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in their work
  • Should be organized and able to communicate with the project team

Responsibilities:

  • Receive directions from supervisors and apply it to work product
  • Research materials/products to help the team determine appropriateness
  • Produce drawings in the various phases under the direction of supervisors
  • Review own work to ensure it is complete
  • Ask questions of supervisors to understand the work being performed
  • Work closely with other staff members, senior staff and principals on each project from schematic design through construction administration

Salary Range $65,000/year to $75,000/year commensurate with experience.

Architect – Construction Administration Phase

We are looking for accomplished full-time candidates with construction administration experience in commercial building types. Qualified candidates should be able to be the architectural main point of contact and lead the construction administration phase of a project.  Staff members work closely with other staff, principals, and consultant teams. Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Required:

  • Degree in Architecture
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience including experience in the Construction Administration Phase.
  • Should have solid understanding of building codes and experience with knowledge of construction documents.
  • Must be an excellent problem solver and demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in their work
  • Have an understanding of commercial building types.
  • Should be highly organized and able to coordinate project documents and design team consultants.
  • Working knowledge of Bluebeam, web-based project management software, AutoCAD, and Revit.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment

Intermediate Architect – BIM Specialist

The selected candidate for this position will work on both projects and assist the BIM Manager to develop office-wide BIM capabilities.  We are looking for accomplished full-time candidates with experience in commercial building types.  Additionally, candidate should be versed in BIM with a passion for technology.  Staff members work closely with senior staff and principals on each project through all phases of a project including Construction Administration.   • Degree in Architecture
  • Minimum 3 years full-time experience after graduation.
  • Should have experience with putting together Construction Documents.
  • Familiar with building types, technologies, and applicable codes.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, Navisworks, Lumion and Enscape.
  • Familiar w/ Grasshopper and/or Dynamo
  • Versed in Revit massing, shared coordinates, phasing, ACC, etc.
  • Create parametric Revit families and other BIM content.
  • Train staff in BIM and be available for BIM support requests.
  • Ensure standards are being followed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be an excellent problem-solver and demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in their work.
  • Should be highly organized and able to coordinate project information & documents.
