Pepperdine Design Guidelines

Gruen is engaged to produce a Design Guide for the Pepperdine campus, an extended network of buildings and facilities located in an idyllic setting overlooking the Pacific Ocean above Malibu, California. These comprehensive set of guidelines are geared towards a diverse group of staff, administrators, and outside consultants, engaged to produce high-quality architecture within the original vision of a campus. The architecture is historically appropriate to Southern California, and the guidelines will address the variety of building types and functions within the campus.

The purpose of this Design Guide is to:

• Consolidate relevant information for consistency of design intent
• Provide a filing system, container, and centralized repository to make this information available as a universal resource
• Capture new information relevant to both ongoing Maintenance, and future planning and development.
