Gruen Associates’ master plan study assisted the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians to realize the full potential of Section 14, a 640-acre area of land in downtown Palm Springs. Section 14 accommodates over 1,500 hotel rooms, a convention center, and a new casino, and is graced by stunning mountain views. Gruen’s prepared a plan aimed at affording the highest and best use of Section 14 for Indian owners and capitalizing on the integrated shopping, entertainment and resort village blooming in downtown Palm Springs. The Master Development Plan seeks to build upon the existing economic strengths of the area, offer the desired elements that are currently missing in downtown and Section 14, and comprehensively coordinate and connect the area’s development.
