Having wrapped another busy winter holiday not too long ago – Valentine’s Day – we are reminded of love for those who are in need.
And that love is displayed each year by Gruen Associates and our fellow Gruenites, who contribute a toy to the Spark of Love Toy Drive. Toys are, typically, collected throughout the month of December and then taken to a Local Fire Station that hosts an annual event to distribute toys, and sometimes electronics, to families with infants, children and teens. We are thankful to those who contribute each year, and especially Charles Roberts, who takes the toys to Los Angeles Fire Department, Station T61 at 5821 West 3rd Street, Los Angeles, CA 90036.
The time and effort in collecting and bringing the toys and gifts, seemingly minimal, goes a long way for the families who receive them who might otherwise not have anticipated anything during these times. Over the years, the Spark of Love toy drive has successfully collected and distributed nearly 10 million toys. Each year, we are glad that our minor contribution to the toy drive has created a lasting impact for families.
Though the toy drive is geared towards the gift-giving holidays, there is always time to donate throughout the year.
It’s never too early or late to think about bringing and sharing joy for this or the next years ahead!
