Senior Planner Orlando González and Associate Planner Kamille Parks, AICP presented the High Quality Transit Area (HQTA) Analysis Pilot Program (https://www.gruenassociates.com/project/high-quality-transit-area-hqta-pilot-projects/) to SCAG’s Community, Economic and Human Development (CEHD) Committee. The HQTA Pilot Program created six transit-oriented vision plans for jurisdictions throughout Southern California as well as a toolkit of transit-friendly streetscape amenities, open spaces, and building types. Orlando and Kamille were joined by representatives from SCAG and the City of San Clemente, one of the six jurisdictions to participate in the pilot, to discuss the purpose and impact of the program.
The Pilot Program was the recipient of the 2020 Award of Merit for Best Practices from the American Planning Association (APA), Inland Empire Section.
